Wow, this year certainly wasted no time in the getting busy department, although so far I think I’ve managed it all pretty well, which is a plus. Didn’t completely bomb my skills test at work, so I still have a job, although I was informed that I should work on my kicking to be better prepared to save people if need be, so I guess we’ll just call that a little extra motivation to remember to hit the gym, something I have not yet done actually. Officially registered to take the LSAT yesterday though. Taking it in December now, since apparently whoever told me they had an October test is a godless heathen who needs to suffer forever. But hey, now I have more time to prepare! Super! Also, started my checklist of things I need to do for all the applications. Still looking for some more schools, any thoughts? So here we are again, the first day of school one last time. Unless I go to law school. Then it will be several more times yet. It certainly has been an interesting few days getting ready for it all. Haven’t really done a whole lot in the LSAT work area, although I may do some at work, depending on how many people are on duty, as I’ve been focused on move-in and things. Also, just bought Madden and Batman Arkham Asylum, because I like to challenge myself to do my homework… They’re both really cool, and the fact that I’m not still playing them this morning is probably a good sign. Also, I set a new goal for myself. I’ll sometimes be the first to admit that I’m not always the best at morning hygiene. I’d rather sleep. Same goes for shaving. I’d rather just do whatever else I’m doing, rather than go out of my way to shave. All of this is going to change. For at least a week, I’ve been fixing my hair, brushing my teeth each morning, and just generally being cleaner than putting my contacts in and splashing water on my face. Like I said, I wasn’t the best. Only thing I could do well was shower every day, since I think showers are the most relaxing part of each day. Also, shaving each day. I like it. And it will stick. Life improvement seems much more attainable!

Got back from vacation, which was cool. Definitely got my workout for the week in yesterday. We had two cleaning days at the Plex, and since almost all of the pool stuff was done after Day 1, got outsourced to help fitness, most of which consisted of dragging around all of the workout machines. Still sore in the arms. Maybe that’s what people should do. Instead of trying to figure out how to use those machines, many of which resembled the illustrations in a history book chapter entitled “Horrific Implements of the Middle Ages,” they should just drag them around. Works the arms, back, legs and soul, which got pretty tired after about two spinning machines. Luckily the day rebounded with free food, drinks, and a waterballoon fight, all of which the staff was still on the clock for. WIN.

About to go to bed before I head out for my Knoxville vacation. Just thought I’d note that I started Reading Comp today, doesn’t look as bad as the last two. Wanted to note that my score for the practice Logic questions was better than the Arguments. 20/29 is still pretty good, right? Baseball rules? Also, only had pork, some Girl Scout cookies, doughnuts, and some cheetos to eat today. That’s healthy, right?

Watching the Red Sox right now. Looks like it might be a comeback. Actually shaved and got myself a haircut today, so I look all smart and profesional for my trip to Knoxville. Gonna try to knock out a bunch of reading comp tomorrow, since I don’t anticipate doing a whole lot of work while I’m in K-Town. It’ll be fun, but I anticipate a lot of what goes on being contrary to what this blog is all about. (ie Dungeons and Dragons instead of working out; watching television instead of doing LSAT work) Whatever, I’ll probably bring the book with me, do some practice in the airport.
Maybe.

About to head off to work, where hopefully I can put logic games to rest for the time being. Maybe Reading Comp will be my section. If not, things may look substantially less shiny than they did when this venture started. Went for a swim yesterday, which I’m pretty sure was a good workout, given the number of times I said “How about something easier this time” and “God I hate this.” I may not be the best workout partner available. Oh well.

About to head to work, gonna try to finish off these logic problems. Other than that, not a whole lot going on. Kind of wish I could go back to bed for a couple hours.

About to go off to bed. Need to do more LSAT work tomorrow. Would have at work today, but then who would have read Entertainment Weekly and People Magazine?
…
Help.

Yeah, today really gets a wash. Thought about swimming this afternoon. Went to the movies instead. Also didn’t go because Megan couldn’t go, and I’ll be a monkey’s uncle before I go swim alone. While I’m willing to do a lot of things by myself (which can confuse some people to no end. they can’t process that you’d want to go see a movie alone or something) I’m generally anxious about entering situations in which I’m no doubt being judged by myself. It’s probably a big reason why I’m so consistiently single. I like to call it Joe’s First Rule of Dating: When potentially awkward, embarrassing, drama causing, or other situations that stem from rejection have the potential to show up, rather than face them, run like a coward to avoid them. At least you avoid all the emotional drama!
Anyway, first meal of the day was movie theatre popcorn, soda, and sno-caps. Dinner was spaghetti. Spaghetti’s healthy, right? So hah. I did do something then.

Yeah…not much happening this weekend. Was going to do some LSAT work on Saturday at work, but we were understaffed that day, and so my break time would have been enough to maybe do one problem a break, maybe one and a half, given my current pace. Played wiffleball on Sunday, which would totally count as exercise, except that we didn’t play with bases, just ghost runners. So, you know, got in some good standing practice and some good swinging a really light yellow bat reps. Maybe something later? Probably not, got some scriptwriting to do.
